This is an original, rolled, one-sheet teaser movie poster from 1974 for The Day of the Locust starring Donald Sutherland, Karen Black, William Atherton, Burgess Meredith, Richard Dysart, John Hillerman, and Geraldine Page. John Schlesinger directed the film based on the novel by Nathanael West. David Edward Byrd is the artist for the poster.
The poster measures 27” x 41” and is in very good to excellent, unused condition with very light, horizontal "waves" (not creases) at the top, center and bottom from previous storage with other posters. Unlike most one-sheet posters from this era, it has never been folded.
Please look closely at the photo as it is not cropped or a stock image. The black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.
This rare and collectible poster, printed in 1974 to tease the 1975 theatrical release of The Day of the Locust, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
