    Aftermath (1927)

    • Film: Aftermath (1927)
      Year poster printed: 1927
      Country: Denmark
      Exact Size: 24.5 in x 33.5 in (62 cm x 85 cm)
      Artist: M. Lichtenberg

This is an original Danish movie poster from 1927 for the German silent film Brennende Grenze (released in the United States as "Aftermath" and in Denmark as "Friskaren"). The movie stars Jenny Hasselqvist (who is drawn on the poster against a background of men on horses with bayonet-fitted rifles), Hubert von Meyerinck, Fritz Alberti, Hans Adalbert Schlettow and Olga Tschechowa. Erich Waschneck directed the film. M. Lichtenberg is the artist for the poster.

The silent drama follows a young widow whose estate is confiscated by the Polish government just after World War I on the highly contested Polish-German border. The German title translates as "Burning Border."

The poster measures exactly 24.5" x 33.5" and is in very good condition with age-appropriate edge and surface wear from handling and storage. The poster was folded at the time of printing but has been stored flat for several decades. It will be rolled for shipping in a rigid, tube mailer.

Please look closely at the photo (this is the exact poster you are buying). The small, black squares in the corners of the poster are magnets and not pins.

This very rare and collectible poster, printed in 1927 for the initial Danish release of Aftermath, is not a reproduction or a reprint.
